Long time ago
mankind built cities
to protect
us
from beasts
and bad weather.
We were once frail
and afraid
out in the wilderness,
but we grew strong
and powerful
behind walls.
Soon, nonetheless,
cities ended up protecting us
from other humans.
Nowadays,
many cities have become
very dangerous places to be.
Once afraid
in the wilderness,
seems we have brought
the fear with
us,
inside the same walls
meant to protect
us,
while some say the solution
is building
more walls.
