A FEW GOOD REASONS

Because is not important
who you can be
but who they want you
to be.

Because I could not pretend
anymore
that I agree so I
refused to become a mass produced
soldier fighting in the
army of intolerance.

Because I cannot love those who
don't let me be who I am,
making me sick and tired
of hiding,
lying,
being afraid..

Because of the poverty of spirit
of those who claim
themselves
enlightened enough
to tell us
what to do.

Because I can't still
sleep in calm
thinking of those left behind
on the hands of merciless
murderers of dreams,
mutilators of freedoms,
annihilators of hopes,
destroyers of lives.

Because I believe I can
find myself
among all the crap
of the world
and make it better.
